Eric Barr, Kansas City for Ranked Choice Voting

What would happen if when you cast your ballot for your favorite candidate, you also indicated your second choice. The ramifications of Instant Runoff voting will be discussed.

Jun 15th    “Biosemiotics from Peirce to Rosen”

Eliseo Fernandez, Affiliate of Linda Hall Library of Science and Technology

This talk reviews and extends topics from previous lectures on the role of related structures in biology, biosemiosis, and evolution. Ideas from philosopher Charles S. Peirce and biologist Robert Rosen are brought together to clarify some unresolved issues in the philosophy of biology.
